Burj Dubai

What will be the tallest skyscraper in the world in 2008? The answer is Burj Dubai, which is a skyscraper currently under construction since April 15, 2005, in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Its final height is officially being kept a secret due to competition from other buildings; however, there are figures suggesting a height of around 850 meters.

Let’s take a look at how this future skyscraper compares to the some of the tallest buildings in the world, say for instance - Taipei 101.

Looks like Burj Dubai will be very much taller than Taipei 101, as the current tallest building is merely 509 meters in height… that’s about 300 meters short than Burj Dubai!

By 2008, Burj Dubai will not only beat out Taipei 101, but will also win over numerous other competitors including the Freedom Tower at New York City’s World Trade Center, the Shanghai World Financial Center and the Fordham Spire.

Dubai is really hot on building skyscrapers. Just look at the top 3 skscrapers in Dubai below.

All these 3 are of course still under construction
