Pronunciation!!!!

Hi folks,

To start off with, one quickie if you can answer, how do you pronounce the word "marijuana." Well, this incident happened a month or two ago, wherein I got caught at the wrong end trying to pronounce the so-called word, marijuana {courtesy - my colleagues}. You tend to learn from your mistakes, especially when corrected by others.

Here is a real cool site to improve your pronunciation skills: - http://www.m-w.com/

India Wins Series!!!

Sachin Ton-Dhulai-Kar scored a scintillating century to pave the way for India's huge 160-run victory over the West Indies in the fourth and final one-day international, at the IPCL stadium in Vadodara, on Wednesday.

Batting first, India amassed 341 for 3 in their 50 overs, courtesy of a 76-ball 100 from Tendulkar. The guests were skittled out for 181. Really a great victory after quite a long time. This time, the home team didn't pause to examine the gift horse's dentures .... tee heee....

Icing on the cake -- valuable knocks from Dravid (78), Ganguly (68), and Dhoni (40) pulverized the opponents.

Stay tuned folks, for everyone out there unable to catch up with the match (peak carnival), will be posting the highlights of the Indian innings shortly.

Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!!!!

Boohooo.... I am tired of this darn game - GTA - Vice City. After two months of drug trafficking, bank robberies, assassinations, reckless driving, street fights, street racing, and the likes {sic - all characters played are fictitious in nature, and has got little or nothing to do with the so-called Antz}, I was shocked to find that I am only halfway through the game.

And by the way, change of thought in the first sentence. Did I term it as a "darn game", well that came out of frustration. As there goes a saying, all is well that ends well. A true fact, ask any gamer, he/she would be the last person to complain about the game. I ain't whining...

P.S.:- If you’re still clueless to what I’m blabbering about, well, it's a PC game that I have been breaking my head on for the past two months. And the worst part is it shows no signs of ending.

Chef-d'oeuvre !!!!

Any guesses what these exquisite pieces are made of!!!!! Let's see how good you are in your assumptions?

Shilpa Shetty wins Big Brother

Well.... some interesting tidbits that occured during this weekend. Naaah!!! It has got nothing to do with the dismal performance of the cricket team, I am referring to the reality show Celebrity Big Brother. The show, dogged by controversies on alleged racist remarks, finally ended.

Bollywood starlet Shilpa Shetty, at the centre of a raging race row, has been crowned the winner of British reality television show Celebrity Big Brother. The 31-year-old Indian actress burst into tears on hearing she had won the public vote. Shilpa was the firm favourite to win the contest, considered the most controversial in the show's history after she became the victim of alleged racist bullying by fellow contestant Goody.

Runner-up Jermaine Jackson, the brother of pop star Michael, said he was "very happy" as he departed the house.

Switching gears, the very Indian version Big Boss aired on Sony TV reached its climax on Sunday, adjudging Rahul Roy as the winner. He walked away with Rs. 50 lakhs as prize money. Kudos to both of you.
The Final Verdict: Are reality shows meant to be solely for entertainment, just to skyrocket the ratings of the channels, or a show portraying liberal dose of expletives and the likes. Certain reality shows like The Roadies aired on MTV are even worse. You virtually have no choice other than to put the TV on mute and watch the program, courtesy of course, free-flowing expletives used by the contestants throughout the show {you can hear the beep sound every now and then}. What's your take on it?

Freeze Kiya Jaaye!!!!

The much awaited new series of 'Kaun Banega Crorepati' (KBC) with new host Shah Rukh Khan went live the other day and has more than lived up to expectations. There had been much talk from media critics as to whether or not the new look of the show would be able to retain the popularity of the previous two series', which were fronted by Amitabh Bachchan.

By adding his own touch, his own wit and his own charm to the show, the programme has the potential to prove as a bigger hit than the first two series. SRK even surprised one of the contestants by gifting his Tag Heuer 2000 Aquagraph wristwatch {costing around 1.28 lakhs}.

More Miles to Go, Shaaaaa......h Rukh!!!

Mamma Mia!!!

Pals,
For all those die-hard cricket maniacs {frustrated and disappointed regarding the non-telecast of the match}, posting you the highlights of the Indian Innings.

Dada Alaa Re!!!!

In a high-scoring match that saw a record 662 runs being scored, the West Indies, chasing 338 for victory, were in the hunt till the final over but some fine fielding thwarted them from victory. They lost by 14 runs in the first one-day international of the four-match series in Nagpur on Sunday.

Kudos to the Prince of Calcutta for his superb knock of 98. To be frank enough, I ain't a fan of Sourav Ganguly, but I am for sure a fan of cricket. But what really needs to be appreciated is the die-hard committment in him to be back in the team. Of course, performance matters and he has proved his mettle. The world will step aside for the man who knows where he is walking {ahem!!! Reference: Quotes of Antz}.

The Final Verdict: He came, he saw and he conquered!!!

How to Select a Birthday Gift

When it comes to selecting a birthday gift for someone the first thing that comes to our mind is what to give, he or she has everything. Gift giving can be a chore or an art form. It can be overwhelming and frustrating to trudge through a mall or up and down store aisles, trying to find the perfect gift.

We get puzzled and end up in buying the wrong gift for the person. Here are some great Birthday Gift Ideas for the hard-to please or someone who has everything. These can be considered as guidelines for the perfect gift for that wonderful person in your life who is celebrating their special day. Birthday gifts should be decided according to the age of the person. Like for a baby or a kid, birthday present will be totally different from a teenager or an adult.

Birthday gifts for newborn, baby and toddler:

For newborn baby, you can opt for newborn baby set, which includes, clothes, nappy, baby lotion, powder, towel, etc. It will be a complete range of baby product. You can also gift baby toys, which come in all styles, shapes and sizes. They are meant not only for fun and attract children but introduce them to various facets of the world and speed up their learning processes by using fun, stimulation and motivation strategies.

Even you can gift baby bedding sets available in the markets, can suit all types of nursery themes. The bedding sets for cribs, bassinets, cradles and baby beds come in all sizes and colors from bright to pastels. These sets include baby blankets such as quilts, receiving blankets, security blankets, sleepers, swaddlers, throw blankets, and canopies. For toddlers, walker can be a good gift option.

Birthday gifts for children and teenagers:

When it comes to birthday gifts for children and teenagers the most loved gifts are toys. The popular toys for children are action figures, stuffed animals and toys, building blocks and models, dolls, educational toys and video games, musical mobiles, games and puzzles, musical instruments, learning toys, outdoor toys, pretend play and dress up games such as kitchen sets and doctor sets, riding horses, battery-powered or pedal bicycles, tricycles and riding toys, science and sports toys, toy automobiles, remote-controlled cars and toy trains. Besides, there are workshops, playhouses and gardening sets for children.

There are board games that enhance the mental and intellectual abilities of the children. Win the hearts of young girls with dolls such as Barbie and numerous baby doll accessories that come with it. There are wooden toys and plastic ones too. Make sure that the toys have smooth edges and are non-toxic. Do not give babies, toys that can easily rip off or are hand painted for they can put it in their mouths. Toys with small parts should be avoided too or they may swallow the parts and can accidentally choke on them.

Birthday gifts for women:

In case of Birthday gifts for women, you can opt for something, which she prefers. It can be according to her liking and preference. If she is someone who spend time in looking after herself, then you can gift her a luxury bathing set, it is an obvious gift choice and a great present for pampering. It includes a moisturizer bathing gel that comes in various fragrance you can choose according to her choice, bathing sponge, body lotion, shampoo, conditioner and cologne. It will be a perfect gift for her body care. You can also go for perfumes of various fragrances and even a range of cosmetics will also be a good option.

Women's jewelry can be of anything from gold, silver or platinum, diamond or pearl, sapphire or ruby depending on the occasion and budget. The look can be elegant or extravagant, individual or expensive, showy or sexy, for every day or only very special occasions; jewelry gifts are timeless and lasting. Going for accessories are also a safe option. As you can gift her side bags and leather purse depending on what she carries. Clothes are also something for which you can go for depending on the kinds of clothes she wears. Another interesting gifts for her is something she wanted to experience you can make her experience that.

Experience gifts are an ever more popular alternative to traditional wrapped presents. Why give gifts that will gather dust on a shelf - especially when most people's houses are already full of impulse buys - when you can help make someone's dream come true instead? You can take her to a health resort for a complete rejuvenation experience or both of you can take a relaxing break and go for a short trip to any nearby place and celebrate her birthday there. You can also make her join some course or classes she wanted to do like language course, yoga, aerobic, or dancing classes. So, it is important how you take care of her likes, dislikes and interest and give her something, which may not be very expensive but very close to your heart.

Birthday gifts for men:

Selecting gifts for men is a really a tough job. It is difficult to know their likes and dislikes. If opted for generic items, then you can gift him perfume, cologne, after shave lotion or a good shaving kit. These are kind of items, are daily used by them so it has a lot of utility. You can also gift them leather wallet, accessories like branded wristwatches, tie pin, bracelet and ring. These are some of the accessories, which most of the men likes. They also prefer gadgets, so you can opt for latest range of mobile phones, I-pod, electronic diary, etc.

Men who like reading books for them there are various options to choose from. You can go for the kind of books he loves to read. Then there are clothes to give both formal and informal depending on his preference. Mostly men like watching action movies, so you can gift them VCD's of action movies of their favorite action heroes.

BTW,
It feels good when others check out your blog, and it feels real better when they get back to you on irregular blog updates. Well, let me be as plain as a pikestaff, there were two reasons behind it. Firstly, the net was disconnected {just between us, in scientific terms, it could be defined as the malfunction or dingolfication [sic - Dictionary of Antz] of the Internet induced by irregular payment of bills}.

Secondly, courtesy, the beforementioned article, the culprit GTA: Vice City

I'm in Love

Might be wondering what the heck is this guy prating on, but I would love to share what I have got in stake. I am least sheepish of the fact that I am a big freak when it comes to gaming. Of course, I am not the only one hanging around, there are quite a few of them at office, but I wish not to reveal their names... you know of course it's Classified X.

And moreover, I don't want to end up with a black eye. Last week, a colleague of mine {Dhoni a.ka. Sundar} passed on to me an amazing and awesome game, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City.

This week so far {all calculations and computations on a per day basis}:-

8 hours of shift + 5 hours of sleep = "Locked & Loaded" the rest of the time.

P.S:- Thanks a zillion Dhoni!!!

Say Cheese!!!

Hi folks, I am back!!!!

The search is over.... at last. Of late, I was quite perturbed and confused, so to speak, whether to go ahead with PlayStation or a Digicam, to start off with the New Year. It was the latter that emerged the winner. {Sigh, sigh..... I would have loved to lay my hands on PlayStation, but I guess I would require the so-called drug, PATIENCE}

Psst!!! just between us... I hate to use the word flattery, but you would be dazed to find me being awarded for the Best of the Century in Photography.. hawhawhaw..

Enough of your crap is the very first thing that you would want to beseech me... well then, let's get to business. After a long search, I finally ended up with Olympus FE-170.
